MORAIRA AND SURROUNDINGS

Moraira is situated in the heart of the costa blanca, knowned for its beauty and superb all year round climate, specially beneficial for people with asthma, allergies, heart and circulatory problems. Moraira retains the charm of an old fishing village with a public auction of freshly caught fish held each morning . In the municipal district of Teulada-Moraira they grow the most beautiful grapes. Also the sweet licquer “ Moscatel “, which has won several prizes, is ideal to accompany the deserts and cakes typical of this area. Apart from those characteristics typical of a mediterranean resort, sun sea and sand, Moraira and its surrounding area provide the visitor with a wealth of facilities and interesting places to see and enjoy. Moraira offers to its visitors great variety of dishes like fresh fish, paella and rice dishes. As well as numerous sports and activities to do such as Water-ski, fishing, golf, surfing, navigation and nice walks through the mountains, etc. For people who love walking in beautiful surroundings , Montgó mountain in Denia or Bernia mountain in Benissa are ideal places to visit. Only 20 km inland you can find beautiful towns like Jalon situated in the heart of the valley , knowned for its famous sausages and wines. Or visit the spectacular theme park “ Terra Mitica” opened in 2001, and will transport you and your family back to the Roman and Greek eras. The attractions include watershoots, one of the biggest roller coasters in Europe, wild water raft rides and themed shows, all of which help to make this an unforgettable day out. A real beautiful village of the Costa Blanca is Guadalest and should not be missed. Guadalest is a small village of just 200 inhabitants built around and on top of living rock. This village offers to the visitant numerous shops, museums, cafes and spectacular views as you reach the top of the village . In June you can participate in the joy of Moors and Christians festivities in Moraira. These fiestas are very attractive due to the beautiful colours of the magnificient outfits and also the live music of bands which are heard all over the town.
